Our Top 3 Anglepoise Designs

Iconic and quintessentially British, the Anglepoise® brand is not only one of our top sellers, but it is also one of our team favourites…

Since 1932 Anglepoise have been producing an incomparable series of practical and stylish task lamps, using George Cawardine’s novel formula of constant-tension springs. This is what allows these unique lamps to easily pivot and angle light in any direction.
Today Anglepoise lamps can be found in homes, offices, restaurants and hotels all around the world.

To celebrate our passion for this icon of lighting, we wanted to share our top three Anglepoise designs…

  1. The Original 1227 Desk Lamp is one of a kind. From the articulated arms to the industrial style shade, the timeless design of Anglepoise’s Original 1227 Desk Lamp has made it a national treasure.

The Anglepoise Original 1227 lighting collection has always boasted unrivalled functionality; each lamp can be easily re-positioned with the slightest touch and comes with adjustable shades that focus the light precisely where it’s needed. Now the 1227 collection boasts unrivalled choice too. This highly adaptable and engaging desk lamp has grown into an exemplary seven-piece collection, including a giant floor lamp and a pendant light, which are all available in a variety of colours.

  1. The Type 75 Giant Floor Lamp is a supersized version of Sir Kenneth Grange’s Type 75 design, which is famous for its classic look and flowing movement. The Type 75 is a firm favourite with architects, interior designers, and homeowners.

We absolutely love this striking and modernist alternative to the Original 1227™ Giant Floor Lamp. Because it is a statement piece that is as functional as it is beautiful.

  1. Our final favourite is the Type 1228 Wall Light which was designed in 2004 by Sir Kenneth Grange to honour the original 1930s design by George Carwardine. This contemporary wall light will introduce a vibrant pop of colour into any interior space and there is also a metallic collection.

This wall light is Ideal for the bedroom. Simply rotate the shade to focus light toward a task or tilt it away to deliver a warm ambient glow around the room.
