Interior Design Trends for 2019
If you plan to give your home interior a refresh this year, one of the best ways to do this is to learn about some of the design world's hottest trends. To help give you some inspiration, we’ve done all the research, so that we can share the top trends design experts think will make it big in 2019…
Colour of the Year
Pantone officially named ‘Living Coral’ as its 2019 Colour of the Year. They describe this colour as ‘an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge’. Chosen by the team of colour experts and trend forecasters at Pantone, Living Coral is set to influence everything from your social media feeds to fashion this year.
Terrazzo
It's a trend from the past that is coming back with a modern twist. Terrazzo is made with chips of quartz, granite, marble and sometimes glass and set into concrete or clay. The chips come in many sizes and colour combinations adding a quirky, colourful feel to any interior. Terrazzo is set to big this year, most commonly being used for kitchen work tops and bathroom surfaces, but you will also see Terrazzo coffee tables and even Terrazzo wallpapers and carpets.
Responsible Design
Responsible design can be applied to everything in our homes from furniture to lighting. We will see more and more pieces made entirely from recycled goods and environmentally-friendly materials. This will make it easier for us to buy items for our homes that we know will have a low carbon footprint.
Copper
Rose gold was everywhere in 2018, yet for 2019 we are expecting to see less rose gold and more copper accents, along with a mixture of other warm metals such as brass and gold.
Our Stanley Pendant Light by Original BTC is available in polished or hammered copper and will add a contemporary and stylish look to any room.
Interior design trends are inspiring and provide us with a great guide when we are looking to update our homes. However it is important to remember your own individual style and tastes. Decorate your space with what you love and enjoy the space you create!
