The Signature Pendant Light from Ingo Maurer is a graphic, sculptural suspension lamp designed to look like a three-dimensional freehand drawing floating in space. The lamp is inspired by the uncontrolled, organic geometry formed when a loose cable falls randomly onto the floor. The framework relies on an elastic, black rubber and plastic rod configured under pre-tension (similar to the structural poles of a pop-up tent). This creates springy, natural curves that look like they are in a constant process of expanding. Hanging at the end of the cable loop is a deliberately minimalist, asymmetric lampshade crafted from black anodized aluminium. Depending on where you stand in the room, the shade physically changes its apparent silhouette from a sharp cone to an oblique rectangle. The lampshade features a curved end that functions as a hook. By clipping the wire of one lamp into the frame of another using provided attachment clips, you can chain multiple fixtures together to build a massive, interconnected "wild weave" lighting cloud.
