The Chiara table lamp by Flos, originally designed in 1969, is a supple construction formed from a simple sheet of polished stainless steel that has been cut and rolled into a cylinder. This self-supporting, origami-like structure hides the lighting source. The light is then reflected and diffused by a large ‘hat’, which resembles a nun’s wimple and veil. Even switched off, Chiara’s strong and charismatic identity makes a striking impression.
