In 1921 Bernard-Albin Gras designed a series of lamps for use in offices and industrial environments. The Gras lamp was astounding in its simple, robust and yet very ergonomic design. The functional aesthetics of the Gras lamp, and the design of arms, stems, brackets, and bases, were truly original and far ahead of time.
The Lampe Gras No. 411 Floor Lamp is a great reading lamp, created with wonderful proportions, extremely adjustable thanks to its double-elbow (it allows it to be rotated twice through 340°) and an ideal height (120 cm) making this a perfect floor lamp to place beside a sofa or armchair.
